On Wednesday Dec. 19, 2007 the world lost a dear friend and talented musician, Donald L. Pomber. Donnie, DP, died unexpectedly of a heart attack at his apartment in Kennebunkport.
Donnie was employed by Flotation Technologies since his return to Maine in 2005. He lived in Sebastian Fla. for 10 years where he worked at a variety of jobs and played music with several bands in the area.
He had been diagnosed with head and neck cancer and had just finished chemotherapy and radiation treatments and was expected to make a full recovery.
Donnie graduated from Kennebunk High School in 1970 and was best known as the keyboard player for The Blend, a country rock band that was locally famous in the area in the 70's/80's. For a number of years prior to his move to Florida he worked as a plumber's helper for AP Baker and as a mate on the whale watch boat The Indian.
Donnie will always be remembered as being a good friend and always willing to help a friend in need. He is deeply missed by his family and friends and especially by his faithful companion for many years, his dog Cocoa.
